Forget boring burgers. This one brings fire, crunch, and creamy richness all in one juicy bite.
Why Marry Me Chicken Burger?
Inspired by the viral “Marry Me Chicken,” this burger takes the idea to a whole new level – ultra-crispy fried chicken, coated in a spicy cream sauce, layered with melting cheese, fresh lettuce, and a tangy burger sauce.
It’s indulgent, dramatic, and totally worth it.
Why You’ll Love This Raising Cane’s Recipe
This burger isn’t just dinner – it’s an experience.
The chicken? Buttermilk-marinated, double-dipped, fried to golden perfection.
The sauce? Creamy with a spicy kick. And that melty cheese in between? Say less.
It’s the kind of burger you eat with both hands and a big smile. Let’s go.
Let’s Talk Texture
It’s all about contrast. You’ve got this crispy, golden chicken with that signature craggy crust—thanks to the double-dip. Then comes the silky, spicy cream sauce clinging to the edges, the gooey melt of cheese, and the cool crunch of fresh lettuce. Add a soft, slightly toasted brioche bun to sandwich it all? Chef’s kiss.

What to do:
Marinate that chicken like you mean it—at least a few hours, overnight if you’ve got the time. Use the same spice blend in both the marinade and coating for full-on flavor. And when it comes to frying, keep the oil hot and steady—around a 7 out of 9 heat level does the trick. Toast the buns, melt the cheese, and layer like a pro for that stacked, saucy finish.
What Not to do:
Don’t rush the marinade—it’s the key to juicy, flavorful chicken. And please, don’t skip the double coat. One dip in flour is fine for amateurs, but we’re going for that extra crunch. Also, avoid drowning the chicken too soon in sauce while it’s still piping hot from the fryer—it’ll steam and lose that crispy edge.
What you need:
For the Chicken Marinade:
- 1 chicken breast (split in two, or use two small pieces)
- 250 ml buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the Flour Coating:
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- Same spices as in the marinade
For Frying:
- Neutral oil for deep frying
- Fry each side for 3.5 minutes on heat level 7/9
For the “Marry Me” Sauce (post-frying):
- 100 ml heavy cream
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the Burger Sauce:
- 3 tbsp mayo
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp pickle juice (from a jar)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Other:
- 2 brioche burger buns
- 2 slices of melty cheese (cheddar or burger cheese)
- A few lettuce leaves
Preparation
- Marinate the Chicken: Whisk together buttermilk, egg, and the spices. Add your chicken, cover, and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours (overnight is even better).
- Prep the Coating: Mix the flour with the same spices used in the marinade.
- Double Coat = Double Crunch: Take the chicken out of the marinade, dredge it in the flour, dip it again into the marinade, and once more into the flour. This gives you that extra-thick, craggy crust.
- Fry It Right: Heat your oil and fry the chicken for 3.5 minutes per side on medium-high heat (level 7 of 9). Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Marry Me Sauce: In a small pan, warm the cream. Add sugar, salt, garlic powder, chili flakes, and black pepper. Simmer until it thickens slightly. Toss in the crispy chicken and coat it well.
- Stir Up the Burger Sauce: Mix mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, and spices. Taste and adjust to your liking.
- Assemble Like a Pro: • Toast your brioche buns until golden. • Spread burger sauce on the bottom bun. • Add lettuce. • Place your saucy chicken right on top. • While it’s still hot, add a slice of cheese so it melts slightly. • Drizzle on a little more burger sauce. • Top it off with the bun.
