What you need:
- For the burgers: 4 beef patties (300g, 2 per burger)
- 4 slices American cheese
- 2 burger buns
- 2 thick tomato slices
- Iceberg lettuce
- ½ onion, caramelized with ½ tsp sugar
- Salt & pepper
- 1 tsp mustard (for toasting)
- For the sauce: 100g mayo
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp pickle juice
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 pickles, finely chopped
- ½ onion, caramelized with ½ tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt & water
- Salt & pepper
Preparation
Caramelize the diced ½ onion with sugar, salt & water. Mix with mayo, ketchup, pickle juice, mustard & chopped pickles for the sauce.
Slice & caramelize the large onion for burgers & fries. Fry the potatoes until crispy, top with cheese, bake at 200°C until melted, then add sauce & onions.
Spread mustard on one side of the patties, cook mustard-side down, season, flip & add cheese.
Toast buns with butter. Assemble: spread sauce on the bun, add lettuce, tomato, patties, caramelized onions & top bun. Serve with fries & enjoy!
