Kitchen Tools I Recommend
If you’re planning to make this often (trust me, you will), here are some tools that can help you:

What You Need:
Ingredients (Serves 6)
- 400–420 g all-purpose flour
- 155 ml warm milk
- 5 g dry yeast (about 1 ½ tsp)
- 30 g sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg (for the dough)
- 60 g softened butter
- 1 egg yolk (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds for sprinkling
Affiliate Tip:
Preparation – How to Make Fluffy Burger Buns
1. Make the Dough
- Add the flour, sugar, salt, butter, and whole egg into a large bowl.
- Make a well in the center, pour in the warm milk, and sprinkle the yeast into the milk.
- Wait a few minutes for the yeast to activate slightly.
- Knead everything into a smooth, elastic dough — this takes about 8–10 minutes by hand or with a stand mixer
2. Shape the Buns
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces.
- Shape each portion into a smooth ball.
- Let the dough balls rest for 10 minutes under a towel.
3. Roll and Arrange
- After resting, flatten each ball slightly and roll it up tightly into a small log.
- Place all 6 logs close together in a greased baking dish (they should almost touch).
4. Proof
- Cover the baking dish and let the buns rise in a warm place for 40–50 minutes, until beautifully puffy.
5. Bake
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg yolk.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds generously over the buns.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (top and bottom heat) for 30–40 minutes, until golden brown.
- Insert a skewer to check — it should come out clean.
Finish
- Right after baking, brush the buns with a little melted butter for a shiny, soft finish.
- Let them cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Tips & Variations
Flatter Burger Buns:
- Want thinner buns? Simply use two baking trays or halve the dough to prevent them from rising too tall.
Sweet Version:
- Add a little more sugar (up to 40 g total) for slightly sweeter rolls — great for breakfast sandwiches.
Topping Ideas:
- Instead of sesame seeds, you can also sprinkle with poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning, or leave them plain for a classic buttery finish.
