This banana bread takes things to the next level, soft, moist, and swirled with a sweet cinnamon-sugar filling, just like a classic cinnamon roll. Finished with a tangy cream cheese frosting, it’s the ultimate comfort bake. Perfect with coffee, as a dessert, or as a cozy weekend treat.
Why This Banana Bread Is Special
Cinnamon Roll Twist – A rich cinnamon-sugar swirl in the center makes each slice irresistible.
Chocolate Chips Inside – Melty pockets of chocolate for extra indulgence.
Moist & Buttery – Thanks to bananas, butter, and just the right balance of sugar.
Cream Cheese Frosting – Sweet, tangy, and creamy – the perfect finish.
Serving Suggestion
Slice thick pieces and enjoy with coffee or tea. For extra indulgence, warm a slice slightly in the microwave before serving – the frosting gets melty and the chocolate chips soften again.

Pro Tips for the Best Banana Bread
Cover While Cooling: Trapping steam under a towel makes the loaf extra soft.
Don’t Overmix: Stir batter only until combined for the perfect crumb.
Check at 50 Minutes: Every oven is different – insert a toothpick early to avoid overbaking.
Frost Only When Cool: If the bread is still warm, the frosting will melt and slide off.
Upgrade the Frosting: Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a tangy twist.

Instructions
Make the Batter
In a bowl, cream together ripe bananas, softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla sugar. Fold in chocolate chips.
Layer the Batter
Pour half the batter into a greased loaf pan. This baking pan has a length of 29.5 cm (11.6 inches), a width of 13 cm (5.1 inches), and a height of 6 cm (2.4 inches). Sprinkle over half the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Add the rest of the batter on top, then finish with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mix.
Bake
Preheat oven to 180 °C (top & bottom heat). Bake for about 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Rest
Once out of the oven, immediately cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest – this keeps it soft and moist. Allow to cool fully before frosting.
Make the Frosting
Whisk together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla paste (if using) until smooth. Spread over cooled banana bread.
